Isle
of Man 2011 CYG
With the Commonwealth Youth Games taking place
in September is it important that all CGAs respond in an
accurate and timely manner to the Organising Committee in
relation to confirming their participation and travel to the
Isle of Man. To date each CGA has been made aware of
their allocation of athletes places and that the CGF
travel grant will cover 2 male & 2 female athletes
plus 2 team officials only. CGAs are responsible for all other
team members and securing all appropriate visas.
The OC
is in the process of writing to all CGAs confirming the
above and will outline details of travel to the island. It is
essential that CGAs follow up on this with urgency to ensure
passage to and from the island so they avoid unnecessary
stopovers and costs. Flight options are limited from the UK
and the ferries, e.g. Liverpool, offer an alternative
experience and more cost effective solution. For more
information on travel to the IOM click on the following link

Sports
Programme Review (SPR)
At the 2009 General Assembly the Executive Board
reaffirmed the process associated with the SPR. Since then,
and in consultation with the President, it has been agreed to
advance the timetable slightly so that all submissions
received from CGAs and others can first be considered by
the Sports Committee in a meeting just prior to the lodgement
of the 2018 Candidature files in May 2011. As advised last
November, we are now working to Monday 28
February for CGAs to submit initial submissions on
any matter they feel should be incorporated into the review.
For all other dates associated with the review visit the
Members Area. Please contact John Eades j.eades@thecgf.com for more
information.

Due - Delhi 2010 Athlete Preparation & Training Grant
Reports
As part of your preparations for
the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi, the OC provided
each CGA with an Athlete Preparation and Training Grant of
US$100,000.
As part of the post Games audit and
accounting procedures and consistent with the basis upon
which the funds were advanced CGAs are now required to submit
a formal report on the utilisation of these funds set against
your original application and accordingly we would ask that
you submit this report along with a detailed summary of actual
costs incurred together with receipts (scanned copies are
fine) through to John Eades j.eades@thecgf.com These
reports were originally due by 17 December 2010. This date has
now been extended to 31 January 2011. Without
these reports we are unable to begin the process of
administering the Glasgow 2014 Development Grant funding.
